Happy Valentine's Day

Image
Here are the kids with their Valentine's Day package from Charity Chapel. They were really excited and thought it was very fun to get cards from kids in the USA! Treats also appreciated! They opened the box and another envelope the next day... We also got a package from the Hanna family in Sweden at the same time... and Cards for everyone from Grandma! We have ordered a new PO Box key... our was stolen with the car! It has taken a month and it still isn't ready! They said, "Don't worry, some people have been waiting a whole year and still don't have their key!" Uh... is that comforting?

Answer to prayer!

Hello from Isoka agian! I think I have found your truck is it a Raider? It is very difficult to get any info because they think I want to steel it from them... HA! It look just like the one on your blogg only it does not have a camper shell on the back (Bed of the truck) and there are two bullet holes in the windscreen... Sorry, that happened in Isoka when the police were chasing them. They said that all you need to do from the Zambian side is to show up with the registration paperwork and you could drive it home within 24 hrs.... I dont know if that helps or not! It is locked up and looks pretty good...one fender is messed up a little and the turn signal lights are broken on that same side, but all in all looks good! Hope this helps Blake Anything that I could do to help let me know and I will do my best That is very comforting news for us! I know, messed up fenders, missing canopy, and bullet holes in the windshield! But, Hey, it is ours and it is found... and it is possible to bring

Something Else...

Duiker Attacks children in cross-country training while at school in Tete, Mozambique! So, I asked for something else to write about, and I get a Duiker. These miniature antilope are only about a foot and a half tall... but the males have sharp little horns and can be aggressive. While running up the hill at school PE, Katie and a classmate were attacked by a duiker. It was serious enough to get her out of PE for a week... and she got 3 stitches! The stitches were removed today and she is back on the hill... but she isn't allowed to swim for awhile since the deeper wounds are still a bit sensitive! OK, I'll just keep writing about the car! Pray for the kids' safety... uh, ours too! Thanks!

Back to Isoka?

Well, now they say that the car IS in Isoka, Zambia, far away... "They" might be the Interpol representatives we tried to contact... The police give conflicting reports, so SOMEONE is lying... The Swedish Embassy is being more helpful than the US Embassy... They will confirm that Interpol is working on the case. We managed to send 2 faxes today to Zambia... we've tried all week, but just found out that they country has added 2 digits to the area codes, therefore we weren't getting anyone... go figure! Toyota managed to get us a copy of our vehicle registration... Thanks! David's car is still not really driveable. The mechanic who should fix it tripped and spilled boiling liquid on his foot today... so, he couldn't come by. I had a rough day... transportation for my kids fell through at lunch time. Last minute angels stood up to help out and take the boys for the afternoon... then, after sports later on, John got left at his buddy's house and everyone else

Found again?

Uh... the car might not be in Isoka, Zambia. Is that good news or bad news? Well, the good news is that when Mikael spoke to the Provincial Police Commissioner he was NOT happy to hear that his colleagues in Vila Ulongwe were "charging" us /officer/day to help us recover the car in Malawi. And, that according to his info, the car isn't in Isoka Zambia... but just near the Tete border in Zambia. And the Mozambique Police have already asked the Zambian Police to return the car to the Mozambique border where the Moz Police can take it into custudy and return it to us. So, that is good, right? Well a representative of Interpol called us for details on our car that was in Isoka Zambia. So, is it or isn't it? Who knows? Why won't they just bring it back? Patience. 1 Month yesterday. 1 Month of having the car stolen and finding rides and depending on others and the grace of God. Of course, it is good to depend on the grace of God! Just uncomfortable to lose your independ

Found?

It isn't easy to be in Tete without a car... with the kids needing to get to school... waiting for a lift for shopping... but, that is the case for now. It isn't easy to LOOK for a "new" car in Tete either. Where do you find a good used car you can trust? There is a dealer, but is he a crook? and he's never actually there to sell the cars. It isn't easy to wait and see. On Saturday, Mikael got a call that our car has been FOUND! Miracle of miracles! We didn't actually have faith for that, maybe YOU did. After a quick trip to Malawi where the car was supposed to be, we find out that "It isn't easy to get back a car that was stolen in Mozambique and taked to the bush in Northern Zambia!" So, if any of you have been near Isoka , Zambia, lately... and have seen this blue car to the left here parked at the police station. You could call me and let me know that it REALLY is my car... and that it is in good shape. And that the police aren't g
