Back to School 2011

Today the 3 Bister Kids started a new school year. In our small school there are 2 grades per class. This year was "move up" year for the Bisters!

Katie is up to MP3, the oldest group in the school. She's started 5th grade, if you can believe that! There are about 13 kids in her class. She's excited about starting guitar this year. She and Dumi both declared their teacher to be great.

Jakob is in MP2. He's starting 3rd grade in a class of about 8 kids. He was very pleased that his new teacher isn't as strict as he'd imagined he'd be. He also finally kept up with Kelly on the morning run. They are the two fastest in the age group, but she's managed to beat him every time! This might be his year to pull ahead at least sometimes.

John has entered the 1st grade. He's finally in PE and gets to run with the big kids… and swim after the run… and play all the sports. Finally! He has a new teacher (Katie had the same teacher in first grade) and there are about 13 kids in his class. His best part of school so far was his new "Deer Book"… we'll have to see what that is!

Tracey and I will be leading the Christian Club again this year. We will meet on Thursdays for an hour. Since there are two of us, we can divide the kids by age groups. Last year was a good start to Christian Club, but it was tough with 25 kids aged 5-12 in one group for just 45 minutes! Since most kids don't have Sunday School, this is a good chance to give them the basics they miss out on.

The whole family appreciates your prayers as we get going in this new year. I look forward to sharing the year with you on this blog. It will be great to see what God has for us in 2011.

  1. The Deer Book... is a blank notebook with an impala on the cover. Mystery solved. Except for the "why?" he likes a new blank notebook!
