Love, love, love

You know, if you suffer in the family of God, you don't suffer alone. Since the "incident", we have received lots of love and encouragement.

First it came from our Mozambican brothers and sisters. They don't have STUFF to give, and no car to give us a lift, but they love us and we feel it. They are praying for us and offering support in practical ways.

Friends in America and Sweden immediately responded with prayer and notes of love. Just knowing that you are standing with us in this whole tough deal helps. We also appreciate the more tangible gifts soon to arrive to a PO Box near us... thanks!

We can't replace the stuff immediately... most cars that are here are quite heavily depended upon daily... so there aren't extras to borrow and even the rental company has to order cars from out of town! So we are dependent. Compassion and help come from all over. Some business people and tobacco company contacts have gone out of their ways to help in practical ways!

Then there are the fellow missionaries. Scattered around the world. Knowing that it could happen to them... or that it HAS happened to them. We covet your prayers... you understand in a way others can't. We know that you love us and stand with us.

And the strangers... acquaintances at the post office, in the market, shops, government offices... people on the street and internet surfers... sympathy from complete strangers is also some encouragement.

Somehow in our vulnerability, we become more human to Mozambicans... we aren't just rich white people with a company behind us to fix our troubles. We are somehow like them... also dependent on the goodness and grace of the same God... in need of the same Savior. In need of prayer, help, and love... just like them. Just like you.

May God bless you with Love and Joy and Peace today as you depend on Him! Just remember, you have to depend on Him... if you don't, your pride will find you out.
